Various Appearances!
THAT TIME A SLOP YOUTUBER STOLE MY WEBSITE WITH NO CREDIT
I do actually have something to say about this. Although I am flattered in some way (it is really cool to randomly appear in a YouTube video, or anywhere), the video itself leaves a sour taste. CircleToonsHD goes on in the video about how AI is eroding the internet as we know it, and while there is truth to the statement, he also goes on to imply, wrongly I add, that sites like mine don't exist anymore. Of course, the irony of that implication is that in explicitly choosing a Neocities site (that is still actively being maintained) to showcase as B-roll for narration that says "the internet in its infacy", is that Neocities is a static webhost that was founded in 2013. He, or his editors, more likely, should have known that, because you would have to know about Neocities to find my site... and therefore you know very well that the internet is not just AI and Twitter. There is a whole world of self-expression out there, and even sites from the era he's alluding to are still out there. You just have to look for longer than 2 seconds.
The thesis of the video is a boilerplate "exercise internet literacy" with a side of "support creators, and websites, even smaller websites" (direct quote), which maintains the irony of doing almost none of that in his own video ("almost"; he puts the artist's handle in the corner when he shows the Shrek shitpost. so, thank god i guess). What small creators and websites are we supporting, exactly? Bluesky and Newgrounds? Please get real. Learn to do research for a video, because this is pathetic and quite frankly, vapid. You get more substance on this topic out of the paragraph on the front page of my site, also ironically shown in the video.
